Our recent stay at Lapwing Shepherd’s Hut was the ultimate countryside escape, offering a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comforts. Nestled in the stunning Tulliement valley, the hut offers breathtaking views across Strathtay, making it an idyllic retreat from the moment we arrived.

Check-in is anytime after 3PM, and the on-site private car park made our arrival hassle-free. The Lapwing Hut was thoughtfully designed, combining cozy simplicity with touches of luxury. The underfloor heating was a pleasant surprise, keeping the space warm and inviting! And, of course, the wood-burning stove added to the charm, especially on those rainy days. Let’s be honest, who doesn’t love listening to the crackling of a fire.

The hut also features a modern, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and super comfy king-size bedchamber.

Just outside the hut, there is a hammock and a fire pit with garden furniture. Perfect spot to relax, watch the wildlife, or stargaze as the night sky unfolds.

The hut’s location also offers easy access to numerous nearby walking trails, allowing us to explore the picturesque countryside at our leisure. There are many excellent recommendations in the Blair Atholl Estate booklet.
